Ambassador Jacqueline MUKANGIRA is the Rwanda's High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to the Republic of India. She presented her Letters of Credence to H.E Ram Nath Kovind, President of the Republic of India on 21st May 2020.
Mrs. Jacqueline MUKANGIRA has extensive experience in both executive and legislative branches of the Republic of Rwanda. Prior to her current position, Ambassador Jacqueline MUKANGIRA served as Director General in charge of Parliamentary Affairs, Fundamental Principles and Research at the Rwandan Senate (Parliament, Upper House) and before, she also served as Director General of Planning and Research in the same Institution.
Previous to this position, Ambassador Jacqueline MUKANGIRA served as Ambassador of Rwanda to the Nordic Countries (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland) with a residence in Stockholm, from 2007 to 2011. Before this, she served as Member of Parliament in the Chamber of Deputies (Lower House) of the Rwandan Parliament from 2004 to 2007.
Ambassador Jacqueline MUKANGIRA has also worked for Norvergian NGOs in Rwanda from 2002-2004 and at the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Rwanda in 2004.
Mrs. Jacqueline MUKANGIRA is the former Chairperson of Rwanda Women Network (RWN) and she also served as member of the Board of Directors of Imbuto Foundation and member of the Rwanda Women Network Parliamentary Forum (FFRP).
Mrs. Jacqueline MUKANGIRA holds a Bachelor degree in Geography, a Bachelor degree in Law and a Masters of Arts in Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation. She is also a PHD Candidate in Geography and Environment.
